Corten steel sheet
Corten steel, also known as weather-resistant structural steel, is a special type of steel that develops a unique, rusty surface through controlled corrosion – while remaining extremely weather-resistant. The protective patina forms naturally over time and permanently protects the material from further rusting.
The sheet metal is bare when delivered – the typical rusty appearance only develops through exposure to the elements or targeted pretreatment.
Its distinctive, warm rust appearance makes Corten steel particularly popular in architecture, garden design, art and commercial construction, as well as for modern facade and design applications.
