Aluminium - light, stable and weather-resistant
Lightweight yet highly durable, it defies the elements – these properties make aluminium sheet a sought-after material in various industries, such as container construction and vehicle manufacturing. Deep-drawing or stretch-forming processes allow highly stable housing covers or entire vehicle components to be produced cost-effectively. The low weight and high toughness of certain aluminum alloys are naturally of great importance in aircraft construction. Aluminium is also popular for DIY projects and hobbyists, as it is very easy to saw, drill, and bend into shape.
Please note, however: It is a relatively soft material, and scratches during cutting are unavoidable. Sheets approximately 5 mm thick and above are subject to slight twisting, i.e., distortion, when cut with guillotine shears. We cannot prevent this, nor can we correct it!
At Metallparadies, these aluminium sheets are always in stock:
-
AlMg3 smooth sheets for general construction or roofing applications. Available in thicknesses of 0.8 | 1.0 | 1.5 | 2.0 | 2.5 | 3.0 | 4.0 | 5.0 | 6.0 mm. We also process these sheets ourselves into profiles, the dimensions of which you can freely specify!
For special applications in mechanical engineering, we offer aluminum plates in thicknesses of 8.0 and 10.0 mm made of AlMg4.5Mn0.7. This alloy is significantly harder than AlMg3 due to its higher magnesium content, making it ideal for milling. However, blanks of this thickness will never be completely flat and will require manual straightening. If in doubt, it's better to order the slightly thicker sheet and mill it yourself (or have it milled) to the required size.
-
Perforated sheets , also called perforated plates or screen sheets, with round or square holes in thicknesses of 0.8 | 1.0 | 1.5 mm. Excellent for ventilation purposes, as contact protection, for pest control, and more.
-
Teardrop sheets , also known as checkered sheets or chequered sheets, are often used as slip-resistant floor coverings or stair coverings. We offer two types: Duett in thicknesses of 1.5/2.0 | 2.5/4.0 | 3.5/5.0 | 5.0/6.5 mm, and Quintett in thicknesses of 2.5/4.0 | 3.5/5.0 | 5.0/6.5 mm. The first number indicates the continuous sheet thickness, the second number the sheet thickness measured with the teardrops or chequers. You can also configure teardrop sheets as an angle profile with us and have them conveniently delivered to your home! ➤ Click here for custom-made sheets.
The widely used extruded aluminum profiles are only available in a limited number of designs. Do you need an intermediate size or a specific edge angle?
Metal Paradise can help: Enter the dimensions of your L-, U-, or Z-profile. You'll immediately see the price and can conveniently order your desired profile right away.
Can you weld aluminium?
Yes, aluminium can be welded using MIG or TIG welding! However, we don't specialise in this and therefore can't handle everything. Do you need an aluminum tub, a transport box, a tank, or something similar? Send us a free >>> inquiry <<< and we'll work together to determine how we can best implement your requirements.
