Structural Steel / Steel Sheet 10 mm (with scale) – order cost-effectively from the specialist
Steel sheet with a thickness of 10 mm is ready for use in mechanical engineering, steel construction, and the entire construction sector. Due to the high own weight (weight per m² for 10 mm thickness: 80 kg), the structural steel sheet is often used as a base and for example as a sculpture stand, table tripod, microphone stand, or as a light/speaker stand for building housings, sturdy covers or as a design element in interior architecture.
Steel sheet 10 mm is well weldable with all procedures and naturally magnetic. Therefore, the steel plate is indispensable not only in construction and interior design but is also widely used here:
• in mechanical engineering
• in shipbuilding
• bridge construction
• in vehicle construction
• in agriculture
• furniture manufacturing
• in pipe and profile industry
• in enamel, barrel and construction industry
• for the construction of housings, cabinets and much more
S235JR is a typical base steel for the entire construction sector and industry. Steel sheet / black sheet offers very good weldability combined with good strength. Before welding, however, the scale layer should be removed from the relevant areas of the structural steel sheets or steel sheet 10 mm cuttings.
The name "black sheet" derives from the fact that it is hot rolled at temperatures between 720 - 1260 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, a dark oxide layer forms, called scale. Another term for black sheet is "scaled sheet". The matte surface of the 10 mm steel sheet with scale shimmers in different colours depending on the viewing angle (blue, violet, red).
Structural Steel / Steel Sheet 10 mm – freely configure dimensions, check price and order online directly
Order your 10 mm steel sheet to size easily online here. Enter the desired dimensions of the sheet cutting into the configurator and see immediately what your sheet costs. You can purchase conveniently at the push of a button. At Metallparadies, besides 10 mm steel sheet, you can of course also order all other common thicknesses as cuttings in any quantity.
You will receive our 10 mm steel sheet hot rolled with scale. Other available sheet thicknesses in the structural steel range are 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm.
Thinner thicknesses below 3 mm (fine sheets) are available in the alloy DC01 in different thicknesses.
Both types of sheet develop surface rust quickly in the air. To protect against corrosion, coating by means of paints, waxes, oils, powder coatings or electroplating processes is necessary.

How we cut your sheets
Cutting method: Sheets up to and including 10 mm thickness are cut on our hydraulic guillotine shears. Sheets in 12 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm thickness are cut by a partner using laser cutting – which naturally increases delivery times.
Warping: Due to cutting by guillotine shear, smaller sheets will tend to twist slightly, i.e. warp. Especially narrow sheet strips will not lie completely flat on an absolutely level surface.
Even laser-cut sheet parts can deform slightly due to heat input (thermal warping). We cannot prevent or straighten warping!
Scratches: Due to general handling, both sides of the sheet will show scratches. The scratches can also be deep. During cutting with the guillotine shear, your sheet may show circular imprints from the sheet clamp.
Production marks are unfortunately unavoidable, commercially standard and therefore do not constitute grounds for complaint.
By the way: Have you heard of "baking steel"?
Simply put: pizza stones are outdated, today we use 6 mm steel sheet! In our blog post

On request: drilling according to sketch
We can also drill holes on your configured workpiece*.
Please select the number of holes in the menu. Shortly after completing your purchase, we will automatically send you an email requesting a sketch with the subject: "Drilling for your order: AU ....., order number: .....".
Please be sure to read the PDF document attached to the email!
Then simply reply to this email with your sketch. We must be able to clearly identify the
position(s) of the drill hole centre(s) and the
drill diameter.
Without this sketch, your order cannot be started!
* Holes are round. Slots, countersinks or rectangular holes are not possible!
The possible
drill diameters depend on material thickness:
Material thickness up to 1.25 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm Ø,
Material thickness from 1.5 to 2.5 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, 8.5 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm Ø,
Material thickness from 3 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, 8.5 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm Ø.
If you need your order processed especially quickly, we offer priority handling for an additional charge. This means:
