Wide flange beams, steel beams
HEA and HEB beams are widely used in the construction industry for the construction of halls, bridges, stud frames, and more. The high load-bearing capacity of these steel beams allows them to be used as window lintels, door lintels, or to support mezzanines or basement ceilings. Our custom-made steel columns are also available with this steel profile.
- Alloy: S235JR
- Length: selectable on the right from 100 mm to 3000 mm (= 300 centimeters = 3 meters)
- HEA beams according to DIN EN 1025-3 (see article image 1), light version, or
- HEB beams according to DIN EN 1025-2 (see article image 2), medium or normal version
-
Variants: HEA and HEB each in widths of 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 mm (for dimensions see tab "HEA and HEB - Dimensions")
- hot-rolled structural steel with scale layer, flash rust is normal and harmless
These sectional steel beams were formerly also called IPBL, IPB, or IB, and are sometimes still known today as "wide I-beams."
(Imagine a capital "I" in a serif font and mentally widen the serifs: these would be the flanges on these beams. This explains the term "wide-flange beam." However, the interpretation "double-T beam" is also very common.)
The outstanding feature of these steel beams is their very high buckling resistance. At wall penetrations, the ceiling is temporarily supported with wide-flange beams during construction until a final reinforced concrete lintel is installed over the wall penetration.
The S235JR alloy used is a simple base steel for general steel construction, plant engineering, industrial construction, and mechanical engineering. The scale layer or mill scale should be removed before welding, or chamfered in the case of butt joints.
On request: Drilling according to sketch
We can also drill holes into your configured workpiece*.
Please select the number of holes from the menu. Shortly after your purchase is completed, we will automatically send an email requesting a sketch. Subject: "Drill holes for your order: AU ....., Order number: .....".
Be sure to read the PDF document attached to the email!
Then simply send us your sketch as a reply to this email. We need to be able to clearly identify the position of the hole center(s) and the hole diameter .
Without this sketch, your order cannot be started!
* Holes are circular. Slotted holes, countersinks, or rectangular holes are not possible!
The possible bore diameter depends on the material thickness:
Material thickness up to 1.25 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm Ø,
Material thickness from 1.5 to 2.5 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, 8.5 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm Ø,
Material thickness from 3 mm: 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 7.5 mm, 8 mm, 8.5 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm, 15 mm, 16 mm, 17 mm, 18 mm, 19 mm, 20 mm Ø.
On request: hot-dip galvanized (+ approx. 14 working days delivery time!)
Please note: For hot-dip galvanizing, the workpiece, sheet or profile must be suspended from one or two hooks.
To do this, we need to drill one or two holes (ø 6 mm) close to the edge if there is no other way to hang it.
First, we cut your product from the raw material. Then, we perform any necessary or desired additional work (such as deburring, rounding, drilling, edging, and welding). The workpiece is then degreased and pickled before being placed in the zinc bath.
Therefore, hot-dip galvanized components are always labor-intensive custom-made products! Returns are not possible.
Due to these numerous preparatory steps by hand and the hot-dip galvanizing by an external partner, the delivery time increases by approximately 14 working days.
The suspension hooks or wires may leave visible marks on the galvanization.
Thank you for your understanding!
On request: miter cut
We can also miter cut your profiles right away. Our band saws produce significantly straighter edges than subsequent cuts with an angle grinder. This saves you a lot of time when working with welded structures! Please be sure to check the cutting geometries in the option images, especially for miters 7 and 8. These are similar but not identical (left hand - right hand).
Angle accuracy to approximately ± 1 degree, so some reworking may be necessary for exact designs. The length always refers to the longest edge!
Note: The cut edges are not entirely burr-free. We recommend having the tubes deburred by us at the same time – you can select this inexpensive additional service from the dropdown menu on the right.
Non-deburred material has sharp edges. Please remember to wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves!
On request: Priority processing
If you need it particularly quickly, we offer priority processing for an additional charge. This means: If
we receive your prepaid order Monday through Thursday , it will be completed and shipped within 24 hours. The priority option (subject to an additional charge) must be selected for all items in the shopping cart; otherwise, the order will not receive priority processing! This service is not available for all items. If your order exceeds our material or personnel resources, we will contact you immediately to find a solution together. Please feel free to contact us
if you have any further questions !
Note: Priority in combination with subsequent galvanizing is not possible!
